NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a name that encompasses the three most influential components of our experience: neurology, language and programming. Our neurology determines how we perceive the world, language determines how we communicate with ourselves and others, and our programming (habituated patterns) determines the way we operate in the world. So in essence, Neuro-Linguistic Programming describes the dynamics between mind (neuro) and language (linguistic) and how their interplay effects our body and behaviour (programming). Some have chosen to call NLP by other names like Neuro Repatterning, Neuro Semantics, Neuro Linguistics or Neuro Associative Conditioning. Other models like ACT and Journey work are remarkably similar (same stuff different packaging).
NLP is a pragmatic approach that addresses the many levels involved in being human. It involves the development of behavioural competence and flexibility, but also involves strategic thinking and an understanding of the mental and cognitive processes behind behaviour. NLP provides tools and skills for the development of states of individual excellence, but it also establishes a system of empowering beliefs and useful premises about what a human being is and is capable of, what communication is and what the process of change is all about.
At another level, NLP is about self-discovery, exploring identity and mission. It also provides a framework for understanding and relating to the 'spiritual' part of human experience that reaches beyond us as individuals to our family, community and global systems. NLP is not only about competence and excellence, it is about wisdom and vision.
BEYONDNLP is different in a host of subtle but important ways. Firstly the NLP you will learn is only as good as the experience and the expertise of the trainer teaching you allows. NLP is an unregulated profession and it is not hard to get the title NLP Trainer. The question is, what else do they have. A trainer cannot give you what they do not have. Our trainers are not only among the best qualified and most recognised in the world, they have the broadest range of experience. Whether you need to apply NLP in a business realm, in coaching or in a therapeutic or personal way, our trainers are unique in that they regularly play in all of these spaces.
Secondly if you talk to our students you will know that we really push hard to help you "get it." People (including trainers) get NLP at different levels. If you do an NLP Practitioner course and your life doesn't significantly change for the better, you've wasted your time. We don't want that for any of our students.
We give you a full audio set so you can listen to the entire course either as preparation or as review. In addition we give you a full DVD set covering the entire course so you can watch the demonstrations, many of which have subtleties that need to be seen several times to be fully appreciated. You also get a manual but not the standard NLP manual that most use. We rewrote it. Why you ask? Because it was too complicated and difficult to refer back to. The 2010 edition is easy to read and relatively self explanatory. It has now become a valuable ongoing resource. Total value of our course materials = $2725.
You are welcome to review any trainings you have done for a few hundred dollars. We also run monthly "supervisions" which allow you to bring your problems and questions and have a group of NLP trained peers and trainers offer alternative solutions. We highly recommend you come and join these groups regularly and keep your hand in.
We also offer email and telephone support. If you have a simple question re coaching, a particular client, an interview you want to know how best to handle etc etc, then call us. We will talk you through it. Its all part of the service, and is the reason why 91% of our graduates surveyed rate BEYONDNLP as excellent value even 12months down the track.
